Briarcroft

A hard-to-beat, close-in location, combined with the warmth of traditional lifestyles and well-maintained homes, make Briarcroft a popular neighborhood for long-time Houstonians and newcomers alike. Home construction in Briarcroft began in 1953, and the neighborhood is still home to many of its original residents. While most homes have been extensively remodeled and updated, like its nearby neighbors, Briargrove and Tanglewood, Briarcroft has also opened up to newer, larger, two-story homes.

Located within minutes of the Galleria, with easy access to downtown, I-59, Loop 610, and I-10, Briarcroft has only 282 homes. Bounded by Westheimer to the south and San Felipe to the north, Chimney Rock is its main access street, with all other streets in the community either U-shaped or cul-de-sacs. The neighborhood is served by the Houston Independent School District as well as a number of private and parochial schools, giving residents a welcome variety of educational choices.

Residents of smaller Briarcroft don’t mind being compared with their larger neighbors, Briargrove and Tanglewood, since homes in Briarcroft are competitively priced and lot sizes are large, averaging more than 13,000 square feet.
